Uncanny depicts the metamorphosis of the artist’s face through Photoshop.  Her features shift and contort to resemble those of commercial, artificial faces that are frequently encountered in magazines, movies, manga, toy stores, and video games.  Though these features are considered to be ideal within their original contexts, they can appear unnerving on a real person.  Yet there is something enticing about these images, for they conceal the camera’s brutal honesty.  Tired eyes become luminous, blemished skin turns smooth, and frizzy hair grows silky.  Uncanny is a series of images that simultaneously draw viewers in and turn them away.
